Long Island Parkway Police 6

I have located some more old pictures from the Parkway Police era. These three photos are from a 1975 accident on the Northern State Parkway near Route 110 in Melville. The driver of the Ford Pinto was killed, and officers from the newly-formed Suffolk County Police Emergency Service Unit were called in to extricate the victim.

Next day, the Carkhuffs had turtle soup.

This picture was taken on the mid 1970's on the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills. That's Charlie Noe from Russo Brothers Towing who seemed to be the tow at every MVA back then. In the background is an officer and one of the old PD cars.

Yes, Russo Brothers, Commack, NY had
the contract for the exclusive authorized tow and service
agency for many years, for
Northern State Parkway, the east end in Suffolk County to Brush Hollow Road in Nassau County.
Sunken Meadow State Park, Sunken Meadow State Parkway,
and the Sagtikos Parkway.

On other sections of State Parkways there was Gullo's, Charlies,
Al Rays auto bodies. Did I miss any?

These two photos are from a head-on collision on the Northern State Parkway near Wolf Hill Road in 1976. The Dix Hills Fire Department was at the scene to extricate and transport the injured victims. I see a couple of the Parkway PD officers in the photos.

I found some more Parkway Police related items. Like always as I find more, I will forward them to you. The Parkway cop standing next to the old fury is Mike DiSilivo. Mike worked in Montauk with the Parkway and merged with the troopers in 1980. Hope you and your family are all well!

with Hilda and Mark Dimpflmaier.

1963? (I think so)
Northern State Parkway,
outside the Lake Success Barracks,
Hank Springer with his three prisoners.
The trio had stuck up a bar and grill in Merrick, N.Y.
and were in possessions of many guns.

Hank caught the three in a gas station on Northern State Parkway,
Carle Place, LEI., NY where the three were considering robbing the lone gas station attendant.

Dear Captain Springer,

I saw that note regarding Tom Sullivan and it motivated me to send the following photos:

1) The one taken in 1954 in Valley Stream show my dad, Tom Kelly and Tom Sullivan. That picture was given to me by Tom Sullivan at my dad's wake in 1992. That Tom Sullivan left the force in the mid fifties.

2) A better picture of my dad on the radio.

3) Two photos of the southern state showing an accident resulting in a death.

4) A "photo shoot" taken of my dad. I think it was used for a parkway police brochure.
