My name is Pete Keiner.  I am the Grandson of Sgt Harold Schweithelm #34 of the Long Island State Parkway Police.  I have several historic photos of his experience in the department.  I would be more than happy to share some of those photos if you have an interest in them.  I have a multi generational patch collection, as well as my grandfathers badge progression from your department as well.  I have his uniform coat, and hat as well.  If you have any interest in learning more about what I have, please feel free to contact me. 

I was fortunate to follow in my grandfathers footsteps and became a Police Officer in Minnesota.

I would say that this picture
was taken from the second floor of
the old Valley Stream Barracks,
with the officer stopping east bound traffic
on Southern State Parkway.
The barracks was just a little east of the
New York City Line,
at the Elmont Road exit.

I'll work on the names later.
