Port Orange Budget Workshop
Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 8:30 a.m.
Held at the Lakeside Center, 1999 City Center Circle

PORT ORANGE, FL - The Port Orange City Council will hold their final Budget Workshop for the year at the Lakeside Center, 1999 City Center Circle, across from City Hall on Saturday, July 26. Open to the public, the workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. and is part of the annual process to finalize the City�s budget for the coming year (Fiscal Year 2008-09).

At this workshop, the City Council will review the current budget proposal, any department requests, and discuss the millage rate. Comments and recommendations made at the workshop will shape the budget according to community and City Council priorities. The next step in the process is to have the budget presented and approved in two public hearings to finalize the budget via an ordinance as required by state statute.

The first public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, where the Budget Ordinance and the Millage Rate Resolution will be tentatively adopted. At the second and final public hearing to be held on Tuesday, September 16, the City Council will adopt the final Budget Ordinance and Millage Rate Resolution.

Both of the September public hearings are subject to change and will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1000 City Center Circle. If you have any questions about the workshop, the public hearings, or the budget process, please contact the Finance Department at 386-506-5702.
