Radio Log
|
Sept. 27, 2007
It should be noted, that incidents posted on this web site
most times do not tell the full story. In addition,
because of other priorities, and the fact that
public safety radio channels are scanned, follow up,
or changes to information posted, might not
be heard and reported to you.
It is important for POI readers to appreciate that the POI
police and fire radio log is not all inclusive, and should be considered
as a haphazard recording of public safety radio transmissions.
In short, do not conclude that you know the full story
and outcome of any incidents referred to on this web page.
Sincerely -- Hank Springer

4 PM: PO: report
of a complaint or complaints about images posted of a fatal accident on the
Port Orange Images web site.
The complaint call is being held whle
PO police attend to other calls that they are busy with.
Suspecting that the complaint
or complaints are about the POI images posted yesterday regarding the fatal
auto accident
in Samsula, I have removed the three images from this web site.
I am surprised that the complainer did not contact me directly, since this
is not a police matter. I suspect the complaint is that I posted
images which contained the yellow blanket which was draped over the deceased
next to the vehicle.
Although there are no legal restrictions about posting such
images, I do yield to people's
sensitivity, when I can.
The images have been removed.

foot northbound from the store.
The Volusia County
Sheriff’s Office was notified of the robbery at about 11:36 a.m.
Approximately 15 deputies and a Sheriff’s Office helicopter began arriving
on scene at Walgreens, 15 N. Charles R. Beall Blvd., within two minutes of
being dispatched. Store employees said that the man approached the pharmacy
counter, flashed a handgun he held under his shirt and demanded oxycodone.
The victims handed him a couple bottles of the drug and the suspect then
fled.
The robber was
described as a dark-skinned white male in his twenties. He was between 6’
and 6’4” tall with a thin build. His hair was black and spiked, but he was
otherwise clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a white
shirt with black stripes on the shoulders, black pants and black shoes that
were possibly hiking boots.
Anyone
with information about the robbery is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at
(386) 668-3830 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida, toll-free, at (888)
277-TIPS. Callers to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify
for a reward of up to $1,000.

(I like well cooked food. When I was in the National Guard, in
Camp Drum, NY, they were cooking for us pork chops,
in the ovens, in the mess kitchen. One oven caught fire and the
pork chops were burnt. They were going to throw them away, but I asked them
to pile them on a plate, and I would eat them. I
took one bite from the center of each chop, and had about 20 pieces.
I loved them. )
