Volusia

July, 2008
Volusia County’s
resident professional dance company, Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theatre,
presents its sixth production at the Daytona Beach News Journal Center on
September 5 & 6th, 2008 at 7:30 PM, and a 2:00 matinee on
Saturday. Entitled
“GREEN,”
this beautiful and compelling contemporary dance performance features the
company’s
twelve professional dancers and is inspired by the green movement. The
choreography, created by Surfscape’s
artistic directors Rachael Leonard and Kristin Bender Polizzi, finds its
source from the color green, the
“go
green”
environmental movement, nature, climate crisis, and global solutions, and
more.
Surfscape has been delighting
audiences for over two years, most recently with their RAW concert at
Atlantic center for the Arts last May. This production also promises to be
technically and artistically stunning.
Tickets are $22, with a youth/senior/group rate of $14, available at the
SCDT box office, 386-366-5108.
